Merchants understands that the creation of an environment that is meaningful for younger generations means we need to show a strong commitment to significant environmental and social programs which involve our people.
Merchants currently participates in Habitat for Humanity - an international program devoted to building ‘simple, decent, and affordable’ housing for under privileged communities
Homes are built by volunteer teams from the business and in most cases clients join in for this worthwhile cause;
At the end of the week a fully functioning house is built and those involved have shared and enjoyed an extraordinary experience
To address South Africa’s youth development and the development of our own leaders Merchants has partnered with an International organisation called Columba 1400. (could insert website as a link?) Our aim is to create connections between our leadership talent and young people with great potential from poor communities in a structured manner to share their experiences, ethical values and competencies.
